A 26-year-old beautician alleges that the son of a senior bureaucrat and his friends assaulted her and ran over her leg with an SUV near Thane's Ghodbunder road. The victim, Priya Singh, is recovering in a hospital for stomach, back, and arm injuries and a broken leg. Singh went to meet her alleged boyfriend, Ashwajit Gaikwad, at the Courtyard Hotel, but they argued on the service road. Gaikwad assaulted Singh, bit her hand, and Shelke drove over her leg.
