Power surges coincide with mercury’s Feb charge

With this February turning out to be the warmest in 15 years, the higher than normal temperature has also led to a spike in power demand. The peak power demand of 4,486 MW this month was more than February 2020 (4,447 MW). In fact, the demand surpassed last February’s on 10 corresponding days by up to 10%.
