BMC plans road works of Rs 2,200 crore

After much back and forth the BMC has decided to retender the 30-plus road work tenders which had been recently red-flagged after contractors bid 30% below the actual cost of Rs 1,200-crore. In an additional bonanza for corporators ahead of the BMC elections in February 2022, the municipality will also float tenders for another Rs 650-crore road works and Rs 350-crore road repair works in Mhada layouts.
