Decades on, Army officer meets kid he rescued from rubble

Six days after the Latur earthquake on October 6, 1993, Lt Col Sumeet Baxi was asked by a couple to look for their baby. The team had little hope, but soon, Baxi found the 18-month-old girl alive under a heap of debris. On Sunday, Baxi will meet the survivor Priya Jawalge, now a school teacher, at an event to mark the 25th anniversary of the quake.
