Hottest April on record in north, central India: IMD

Battered by relentless heatwaves and parched conditions, northwest and central India experienced the hottest month of April ever recorded in terms of day temperatures in weather data going back to 1901. Across India, this was the fourth hottest April on record, the India Meteorological Department said on Saturday.
