Landslides leave Badrinath pilgrims stranded for 8 hours

The Badrinath national highway — NH-58 — remained blocked due to recurring landslides near Pinola and Tayapul in Chamoli district since Sunday morning, leaving hundreds of pilgrims en route to the holy shrine stranded for over eight hours. The highway was opened up only after 1pm, according to the district emergency operation centre.
