PM Modi launches India's 1st rapid rail, says will link Haryana, Rajasthan too
PM Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off Namo Bharat, the country's first semi-high speed rail transit system, in Ghaziabad, calling it a "glimpse of India of the future" that is representative of the country's transformation. The 17km section from Sahibabad to Duhai Depot that the PM opened is part of the 82km Delhi-Meerut corridor, scheduled to be operational in 2025. The two other routes in the pipeline are from Delhi to Alwar via Gurgaon and Delhi to Panipat.
